In Israel, diggers unearth the Bible's bad guys
Sat Jul 9, 2011
You took the words out of my mouth, Mark. I cannot believe some of the things said on this discussion. One idiot even wrote on this discussion that there is no proof beyond the Bible that David and Solomon were in fact real people--and that the same truth extends to Jesus--that no writers except tho …
Ex-cop says he didn't kill Illinois girl in '57

Kevin C-- I don't have any formal training in law (for the exception of old Law and Order episodes). However, I am certain that there is no statute of limitations on capital offenses, i.e. murder--and that is what he has been charged with.
Sadat's assassination plotter remains unrepentant

@Chris-- I may be ignorant on this particular writer and his rhetoric, but I didn't sense too much of a bias on the side of Israel. If you could, please elaborate on your comment. Thanks.

Falling tree kills Wis. man in severe hail storm
Fri Jul 1, 2011
@WeldDem- I have to agree with jimispoon; men and women on bikes meeting their maker by having a tree fall on them probably is not within the realm of "common occurrence." His other comment was on time as well; I only read the story to see what the size of the cargo plane is--C130s are huge. P …
UN: Famine breaks out as drought hits 10 million in Horn of Africa

Stephen aka the rightthinker-- why scientifically minded adults? Learning does occur on other levels than "on science" (lack of a better term, I don't like to take too much time on these things) only, as I am sure you know. You do make a great point about deforestation and war; however, would …

@isis-1618599 --let me ask you a question; if a fetus of a dog was left alone, came to full gestation and was born--it would be a dog, correct? Therefore, when a fetus is in the womb of a woman, and has not come to full gestation--would we be correct in saying that the unborn is any less human--afte …
Asteroids may have nurtured the chemical seeds of life
Thu Jun 9, 2011
These findings do not make today any different than yesterday. Who cares if asteroids hit the earth. God could have created the universe in any fashion that He wished. When the Word or Logos (John 1:1), spoke everything into existence, then I don't see any problem with a few asteroids being thrown a …
Ore. faith-healing couple convicted in felony case
Wed Jun 8, 2011
@Crystalwhirl18-- What you have said, "God helps those who help themselves" is not taught in the Bible--actually, it is the exact OPPOSITE of what God's Word teaches. God helps those who by no means can help themselves. The Jews in the Old Testament could not live up to the Law. Jesus, our Savior an …
Why it's so hard to win war against US oxycodone epidemic
Wed Jun 1, 2011
It is easy for someone to maintain the addiction if there is always a readily available supply--one could go undetected for many years w/o ever being known to be an addict. That is the reason he was able to perform. Some people actually testify that they function "better" on their substance of choic …
